WARRANTY COVER
Sun Chaser eBikes Warranty
At Sun Chaser eBikes, we stand behind the quality of our bikes and the support we provide before and after your purchase.
Every Sun Chaser e-bike is checked before handover or dispatch, and we aim to make warranty support clear, practical, and fair. If something is not right, we will work through the issue properly and guide you through the next step.
This warranty applies in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Your consumer guarantee rights cannot be excluded, restricted, or replaced by this warranty.
If you need help with warranty, servicing, troubleshooting, or spare parts, please contact us at support@sunchaserebikes.com.
Who Is Covered?
This warranty applies to the original purchaser of a Sun Chaser e-bike or product purchased directly from Sun Chaser eBikes or from an authorised Sun Chaser retailer.
To make a warranty claim, you may be asked to provide proof of purchase, such as an order confirmation, receipt, invoice, or other valid purchase record showing the product, purchase date, and seller.
If you purchased your bike through one of our authorised retailers, please contact that retailer first for warranty assistance. If you are unsure who to contact, you are welcome to reach out to us and we will help guide you.
Warranty Periods
Warranty periods begin from the original date of purchase or delivery, unless otherwise stated.
| Component | Warranty Period | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Frame | 24 months | Manufacturing defects in the frame under normal use. |
| Forks, handlebars, stem, seat post, rims and selected structural components | 24 months | Manufacturing defects under normal use, excluding impact damage, misuse, corrosion, wear, or poor maintenance. |
| Battery | 12 months | Manufacturing defects and abnormal battery failure under normal use and proper charging/storage conditions. |
| Motor | 12 months | Manufacturing defects or internal motor failure under normal use. |
| Controller, display, wiring harness, throttle, pedal assist sensor and electrical components | 12 months | Manufacturing defects under normal use. |
| Brakes, lights, derailleur, shifter and wheel hub | 12 months | Manufacturing defects, excluding normal wear, adjustment, contamination, misuse, or impact damage. |
| Accessories | 6 months | Manufacturing defects in accessories supplied by Sun Chaser eBikes. |
| Tyres, tubes, brake pads, chains, grips, bearings, cables and other wear items | Not covered for normal wear | Covered only where a clear manufacturing defect is identified at or shortly after purchase. |
Warranty coverage is based on manufacturing defects under normal use. It does not cover damage, misuse, poor maintenance, normal wear and tear, corrosion, punctures, or unauthorised modifications.
Battery Warranty
The battery is covered for 12 months against manufacturing defects under normal use.
Battery warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:
- incorrect charging
- using a non-approved charger
- leaving the battery fully discharged for extended periods
- water damage or corrosion
- impact damage
- tampering, opening, or modifying the battery
- exposure to extreme heat, fire, flood, or unsafe storage conditions
- normal reduction in battery capacity over time and use
As a guide, lithium batteries naturally lose capacity over time. Reduced range by itself is not automatically a warranty fault unless testing confirms abnormal battery failure within the warranty period.
What Is Covered?
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period.
Depending on the issue, Sun Chaser eBikes may choose to:
- provide troubleshooting support
- supply a replacement part
- repair the affected component
- replace the affected component
- assess the product further before confirming the appropriate remedy
In many cases, a fault can be diagnosed with photos, video, and basic troubleshooting before any part needs to be returned.
What Is Not Covered?
This warranty does not cover faults, damage, or failures caused by:
- normal wear and tear
- punctures, worn tyres, worn tubes, worn brake pads, worn chains, worn grips, or worn bearings
- lack of regular maintenance
- incorrect assembly, adjustment, fitting, or installation
- impact, crashes, collisions, drops, or transport damage
- jumping, stunt riding, racing, wheelies, or extreme riding
- commercial use, rental use, courier use, or fleet use unless agreed in writing
- overloading the bike beyond the stated load rating
- water damage, salt-water exposure, corrosion, flood, fire, storm, or natural disaster
- foreign objects, debris, sand, or contamination entering components
- incorrect charging or use of non-approved chargers
- modifications, tuning, derestriction, or tampering with electrical components
- use of non-original or non-approved parts that cause or contribute to the issue
- failure to follow user instructions, safety guidance, or maintenance recommendations
- cosmetic marks, scratches, fading, or paint chips from normal use after delivery
- labour, servicing costs, consumables, or transport costs unless agreed in writing
Modifications and Derestriction
Unauthorised modifications can void warranty coverage.
This includes, but is not limited to, changes to the motor, battery, controller, display, throttle, speed limiter, brake sensors, wiring, transmission, suspension, braking system, or any safety-related component.
Derestricting the bike, modifying power or speed settings, removing brake cut-off sensors, or altering the bike outside its intended configuration may void warranty coverage and may also make the bike unsafe or non-compliant for public use.
Any modification, accessory, repair, or third-party part that causes or contributes to a fault may affect warranty coverage for the related component.
Important Safety and Compliance Considerations
Sun Chaser eBikes are designed to be used safely and responsibly. Riders are responsible for using their e-bike in accordance with local road rules, age requirements, helmet laws, public-road regulations, and any private-property restrictions that apply.
Some e-bikes may have adjustable power or speed settings. For public-road use, the bike must be used in the compliant setting required by your state or territory. Higher-power or unrestricted settings, where available, are intended for private property use only where permitted.
Warranty coverage may be affected or voided if the bike has been used in a way that is unsafe, unlawful, outside its intended purpose, or outside the manufacturer’s recommended limits.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- using unrestricted or higher-power settings on public roads or paths where not permitted
- removing, bypassing, or altering speed limits, brake cut-off sensors, displays, controllers, throttles, or wiring
- using the bike for racing, jumping, stunt riding, wheelies, or extreme riding
- allowing children or inexperienced riders to use a bike that is not suitable for their age, size, ability, or the riding environment
- carrying passengers or children in a way that is not suitable for the bike, accessory, or legal requirements
- overloading the bike beyond the stated maximum load rating
- using the bike in unsafe conditions or without proper maintenance
Sun Chaser eBikes is happy to provide practical guidance on setup, compliant use, accessories, child seat suitability, and safe riding recommendations. However, the rider remains responsible for how the bike is used once it has been supplied.
If you are unsure whether a setup, accessory, power mode, child seat, or riding use is suitable, please contact us before riding. We would rather help you check first than have an issue later.
Water, Salt and Coastal Use
Sun Chaser e-bikes are designed for normal everyday riding conditions, but they are not waterproof and should not be submerged or pressure washed.
Water damage, salt-water exposure, corrosion, and damage caused by poor cleaning or storage are not covered under warranty.
If you ride near the coast, we recommend regular cleaning, drying, lubrication, and storage in a dry area where possible. Salt air and coastal conditions can accelerate corrosion if the bike is not maintained properly.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
To make a warranty claim, please contact us at support@sunchaserebikes.com.
Please include:
- your name
- order number, invoice, receipt, or other proof of purchase
- bike model
- date of purchase
- a clear description of the issue
- photos of the bike and affected part
- a short video showing the fault, where helpful
Once we receive the information, we will assess the issue and advise the next step.
Please do not send any product or part back to us without contacting us first and receiving return instructions.
Returns for Assessment or Repair
If a product or part needs to be returned for assessment, repair, or replacement, it must be packed securely to prevent damage during transport.
Damage caused by poor return packaging or transport after the customer has taken possession of the product is not covered under warranty.
Depending on the situation, the customer may be responsible for transport, packaging, labour, or third-party service costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Repairs, Replacement Parts and Labour
Where a valid warranty claim is approved, Sun Chaser eBikes may provide replacement parts, repair guidance, or other support depending on the nature of the issue.
Unless agreed in writing, warranty does not automatically include third-party labour costs, mobile mechanic costs, shop service fees, travel time, freight, or associated expenses.
If you choose to have work carried out by a third party without prior approval from Sun Chaser eBikes, those costs may not be reimbursed.
Dealer Purchases
If you purchased your Sun Chaser e-bike from an authorised retailer, please contact that retailer first for warranty support.
Your retailer may assist with inspection, troubleshooting, servicing, or parts replacement.
If you are unsure how to proceed, please contact Sun Chaser eBikes and we will help direct you to the right support pathway.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
