A large 40L Basil crate for riders who need proper carrying space for shopping, a larger bag or regular errands. It is the biggest of the black Basil crate range and works best when the bike carrier and mounting setup are confirmed first.

A suitable non-MIK rack may need a separate rack-side MIK Carrier Plate (70170); an integrated MIK rack does not. Check exact compatibility. Follow the lowest basket, adapter (15kg), rack and bike load limit.

This listing is for the black crate. Basil also offers this crate style in Black, Moss green, Terra red, Chocolate brown, Bluestone, Bright white, Silver blue; the slider above shows the available colour direction so you can match the bike or keep it understated.
Basket and crate fit depends on the bike carrier, rack rating, mounting plate and how the bike will be loaded. Confirm compatibility before ordering, especially on eBikes with unusual racks, child seats, rear passengers or other accessories already fitted.
Can I order another Basil colour or product?
Yes. Black is the standard option here, but we can source other Basil colours and products where available through the Basil range.
Does it include the mounting system?
Basket only excludes mounting hardware. Basket + Basil crate mounting set includes the fixed mounting set. Neither includes a MIK adaptor plate. The Basket + MIK adaptor plate option includes the Basil MIK Adapter Plate 2.0 (70173) and keys S/L; the adaptor plate is included.
Can it go on the front or rear?
Yes, Basil lists the crate for front and/or rear use, provided the carrier and mounting system are suitable.
How much can it carry?
Basil lists 10 kg, but the real limit is also controlled by the bike carrier or rack rating. Use the lower of the two limits.
This option combines the basket shown in the existing basket photos with the Basil MIK Adapter Plate 2.0 (70173), including keys S and L. The separately labelled plate photo shows the included adapter, not another basket. No factory pre-assembly is implied. Secure the plate to the basket before use.
Basket-only and fixed-mounting-set options remain separate choices.
For a detachable MIK setup, check your bike in the carrier-plate compatibility table. Not every bike needs the rack-side 70170. Confirm rack fit, clearances and load limits; fixed mounting does not require MIK parts.
Basket + MIK adaptor plate already includes the basket-side 70173 and keys S/L, not the separate rack-side 70170. Do not buy a second 70173 for that bundle.
