eBike Service & Maintenance
Keeping your e-bike properly maintained helps it ride smoother, brake better, last longer, and stay safer for everyday use.
At Sun Chaser eBikes, we offer practical service and maintenance support for our customers, including brake pad replacement, tyre changes, general checks, tidy-ups and basic tuning.
Whether your bike needs a simple adjustment, new brake pads, a tyre change, or a general once-over, we are happy to help.
Our eBike Service Options

Prices listed are for labour and standard service work only unless stated otherwise. Additional parts or labour may be quoted separately depending on the work required.
Brake Pad Change + General Tune
This service is ideal if your brakes are noisy, feeling weak, rubbing, or simply due for a refresh.
The service includes:
- replacement of brake pads
- general brake check
- basic adjustment where required
- overall bike inspection
- tidy-up and tune
- checking key bolts and obvious wear points
- general advice if further work is needed
If additional parts are required, such as tyres, tubes, cables, chains, or other components, we will let you know before proceeding.
Tyre and Tube Changes
We can assist with front and rear tyre or tube changes.
Rear tyre changes are usually more involved on e-bikes because of the motor wheel, wiring, axle nuts and alignment. That is why rear tyre changes are priced differently from front tyre changes.
- Rear tyre change: $30 labour
- Front tyre change: $20 labour
Tyres, tubes and other parts are not included in the labour price unless specifically supplied or quoted.
Additional Repairs or Parts
If your e-bike needs extra work, we can assess it and provide a quote based on what is required.
Additional costs may apply for:
- replacement parts
- extra labour
- electrical troubleshooting
- brake replacement
- gear adjustment or drivetrain work
- chain replacement
- tyre or tube supply
- accessory fitting
- damage caused by impact, corrosion, water, misuse or lack of maintenance
We will always aim to explain the issue clearly and confirm any additional cost before carrying out extra work.
Why Regular Maintenance Matters
eBikes are heavier and more powerful than standard bicycles, so regular maintenance is important. Brakes, tyres, chains, spokes and bolts can wear or loosen over time, especially with regular use, hills, heavier loads, child seats, coastal riding or wet conditions.
Regular maintenance can help with:

- longer component life
- early detection of worn parts
- better overall riding confidence
When Should I Service My eBike?
As a general guide, we recommend having your e-bike checked every 6 to 12 months, depending on how often you ride.
You may need service sooner if:
- your brakes feel weak or noisy
- your tyres are worn or punctured
- the bike feels loose, noisy or unstable
- you regularly carry kids, passengers or heavy loads
- you ride in wet or coastal conditions
- you use the bike daily
- you notice rubbing, clicking, grinding or vibration
