Trailers are for jobs a normal rear rack cannot handle: carrying children, bringing a dog along safely, or moving everyday cargo behind a compatible bike. The key is choosing the right trailer for the load, then checking the bike and hitch before ordering.
Choose by the job
Best when you want the child carried behind the bike in an enclosed trailer rather than on a frame or rack-mounted seat. Check age, height, weight, harnessing and bike fit.
Useful for dogs that are too small, too old, recovering from injury, or not suited to running beside a bike. Internal size, ventilation and easy entry matter more than looks.
For groceries, gear, picnic loads and bulky everyday carrying. They are not passenger products. Load rating, tie-down options and handling are the main checks.

Before you buy
Do not assume a trailer fits every eBike. Confirm the hitch or axle setup, the total loaded weight, braking feel, turning space and whether the trailer is suitable for your intended road/path use. For child and dog trailers, comfort and safety limits come before convenience.
